In 1991, degree in Medicine and Surgery with top marks, honors, nominated for the Barbagallo-Sangiorgi Prize and thesis recommended for publication at the University of Catania.

SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS: respiratory intensive and semi-intensive therapy, lung mechanics and respiratory rehabilitation therapy, physiopathology of the airways and pharmacology of bronchial smooth muscle, epidemiology, smoking.
